Reebok Indonesia wins award

JAKARTA (JP): Reebok Indonesia has won the Alf Shrub Award for outstanding achievement in the sales of Reebok brand sports equipment in the country.

The company said on Thursday that the award, named after a runner who broke the world record in 1904, was given by Reebok International annually for its best country distributor.

"The award was given to us thanks to our significant contribution last year even though our country has been going through times of hardship," Reebok Indonesia general manager Ruby Sjabana said.

Distributors from at least 50 countries were competing for this year's prize during the Reebok summit in Boston last month, she added.

Reebok International reported a net income of US$80.9 million last year from $11 million in 1999.(bsr)
