Redmi K90 Ultra Leak: 8,500mAh Battery and Snapdragon 8 Elite Chipset
The smartphone market is shaken by the latest leak from Xiaomi’s sub-brand. The Redmi K90 Ultra has appeared on China’s 3C certification platform with model number M332BF, sparking speculation about a new mid-range premium phone with flagship-level specifications.
According to the certification data, the Redmi K90 Ultra will support 100W wired fast charging. However, its main appeal lies not just in charging speed, but in an extreme hardware combination designed specifically for performance enthusiasts and mobile gamers.
Redmi appears serious about positioning this Ultra series. The device is rumoured to be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, placing it among the most aggressively performing phones in its class with high power efficiency and top-tier graphics processing.
To counter the substantial power, Redmi has taken an unusual step. The phone is said to feature a built-in cooling fan, a feature typically found only in dedicated gaming phones like the ROG Phone or RedMagic series. This physical fan aims to maintain stable temperatures with minimal thermal throttling during extended heavy gaming sessions.
Visually, the Redmi K90 Ultra is predicted to feature a flat 1.5K OLED panel. The flat display is good news for gamers, minimising accidental touches (mistouches) common with curved screens, while a high refresh rate ensures smoother visual transitions.
Battery capacity is the most significant highlight. The Redmi K90 Ultra is rumoured to pack an 8,500mAh battery. If accurate, it would be one of the largest-capacity phones globally, offering exceptional endurance for intensive all-day use.
Beyond core specs, Redmi is also including premium features such as dual stereo speakers, an ultrasonic under-display fingerprint sensor with improved responsiveness, and high durability with IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and high-pressure water resistance.
Despite its aggressive specs, the Redmi K90 Ultra is predicted to carry a competitive price tag. Rumours from China suggest a starting price of 2,799 yuan (approximately £310), with an official launch expected in June or July.
According to gadget analysts, the Redmi K90 Ultra is expected to bring significant improvements in power and efficiency.
