KAI Commuter Indonesia (KCI) has completed repairs to an electric commuter train, and services on the Bogor–Jakarta Kota route (Red Line) have returned to normal today.

“With the repairs to the Commuter Line trainset completed, the number of Commuter Line Jabodetabek services returned to normal today, Tuesday (20 October),” KAI Commuter Vice-President of Corporate Secretary Karina Amanda said on Tuesday (20 October 2026).

KCI had been repairing trainset CLI-225, built by INKA, after it experienced a problem on Friday (16 October). During the repair period, seven Bogor–Jakarta Kota Commuter Line services were cancelled.

The INKA-built KRL’s return to service restores capacity on the Bogor line to 392 trips. Commuter Line Jabodetabek services have also returned to normal, with 1,065 trips.

Karina said that before the train returned to service, KAI Commuter’s technical team and INKA had conducted dynamic tests to ensure that safety, security and operational systems met the required standards.

Average daily Commuter Line passenger numbers on the Bogor route on weekdays this October have been 480,395.

Bogor Station has had the highest average daily passenger volume, at 50,262. Citayam Station has averaged 35,434 passengers a day, while Bojonggede Station has averaged 31,162.

KAI Commuter again apologised for the cancellation of seven Bogor Commuter Line services, which affected passenger comfort, particularly during the morning peak. The company urged passengers to prioritise safety and follow instructions from staff at stations and on trains.

“To access alternative Commuter Line timetables and information on service schedules and train locations, passengers can use the C-Access app,” Karina said.
