Commuters on the Red Line KRL (Jakarta Kota-Bogor route) have complained of prolonged waiting times due to a fallen tree located between Universitas Indonesia (UI) Station and Pasar Minggu Station. The incident caused trains to remain stationary at stations for extended periods.

“We were stuck towards the Pasar Minggu direction for 40 minutes before departing again. Every time the train stopped at a station, we had to wait 10-15 minutes for trains to pass through the tracks alternately,” said Della, a Red Line commuter travelling from Manggaray Station, on Wednesday (30/09/2026).

Another passenger, Dea Puspa, noted that passengers were visibly accumulating at every station as a result of the fallen tree. Dea was held up for half an hour at Tebet Station.

“The KRL is moving again and the information says service has returned to normal, but passengers are already piling up at every station. The train has departed from Pasar Minggu. (I was stuck) for 30 minutes at Tebet,” she said.

She added that when the KRL stopped for a long duration, the situation on the platforms became crowded. KAI Commuter also provided information that the trains were halted due to the fallen tree.

“The platforms and the inside of the trains were both crowded. The information provided was that a tree had fallen between UI and Pancasila Stations,” she said.

After being delayed for half an hour, KRL services returned to normal. However, upon entering UI Station, trains were forced to slow down due to remaining tree debris and dangling cables.

“As we were entering UI Station, the speed slowed down; you could see piles of wood from the tree that had been sawed and dangling electrical cables,” she added.

Previously, KAI Commuter stated on its official X account at 14:37 WIB on Wednesday (30/09/2026) that KRL services on the Jakarta Kota-Bogor Red Line were disrupted due to a fallen tree.

“We apologise for the delays on the Bogor Commuter Line due to a fallen tree between Universitas Indonesia and Pasar Minggu Stations, which is currently being handled by officers,” wrote KAI Commuter.

KAI Commuter noted that train services were awaiting confirmation that the tracks were safe. Passengers were advised to follow the instructions of station staff.

“Commuter Line services are currently awaiting safety clearance at the location to proceed. We urge all users to follow the directions and information provided by officers on the ground. We will provide updates as the situation develops,” said KAI Commuter.
