Red-Handed Arrest of Foreign Nationals Involved in Online Gambling in Hayam Wuruk, Polri: Embodiment of Asta Cita

The disclosure of an international online gambling criminal activity. The arrest location is where colleagues are now standing. This serves as an embodiment of the implementation of President of the Republic of Indonesia’s Asta Cita,” said Dirtipidum Bareskrim Polri Brigadier General Wira Satya Triputra during a press conference at the scene in the Hayam Wuruk area, West Jakarta, on Saturday (9/5/2026).

The disclosure was carried out since Thursday, 7 May. This online gambling activity is suspected to be an organised network.

“We found indications of gambling activities conducted in an organised manner and involving foreign nationals from various countries,” he explained.

Wira stated that the perpetrators were caught red-handed while carrying out online gambling activities.

“The implementation of this disclosure was carried out on 7 May, Thursday. The perpetrators were arrested in a red-handed state, meaning the perpetrators were conducting operations or online gambling activities,” he clarified.

Hundreds of foreign nationals (WNA) were secured at the location. These nationals are from China, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand to Cambodia.

“From the perpetrators we successfully secured, the number reaches 321 people,” he said.
