'Red Cross' car carries ganja
BANDA ACEH, Aceh: Police in Trumon, southern Aceh, seized 50 kilograms of marijuana on Thursday from a car bearing the logo of the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) heading for Singkil, a southeastern town near the border with North Sumatra.
Three suspects have been detained, said Comr. Sudarsono, deputy spokesman of the Aceh Security Restoration Taskforce in Banda Aceh.
The marijuana was seized near the Trumon Police office, some 535 kilometers south of Banda Aceh, Antara reported. "The car is privately owned and has the PMI logo on it," Sudarsono said.
Two of the suspects aged 21 and 29 are employees of Meuraxa clinic in Banda Aceh. The other is a 32-year-old resident of Peukan Bada in Aceh Besar regency.
