Red Chilli Prices Hit Rp79,000 per kg on 15 June 2026
The National Strategic Food Price Information Centre (PIHPS) has recorded significant fluctuations in several key food commodities at the national retail level. Based on the latest data today (15/6), the price of red chilli was reported to have reached Rp79,000 per kilogram. This price surge positions red chilli as one of the commodities with the most striking increase. In addition to chillies, the price of purebred chicken eggs was also observed to be stable at a high level of Rp29,800 per kg. The data, managed by Bank Indonesia, shows that price pressures are still occurring in the horticulture and animal protein sectors. The rice sector also showed fairly high figures across all quality categories. Meanwhile, the price of branded cooking oil package I was recorded at Rp24,100 per litre, while branded package II was priced at Rp23,250 per litre. The public is urged to continue monitoring price developments through official PIHPS channels to anticipate dynamic price changes in the retail market.
