Red Chilli Prices Hit Rp75,750 per Kg, Eggs at Rp30,350 on 16 June 2026

The price of red chilli peppers has seen a significant spike, reaching Rp75,750 per kilogram today, 16 June 2026, according to the latest data from the National Strategic Food Price Information Centre (PIHPS) as of 07:00 WIB. Chicken eggs were also recorded at a high level of Rp30,350 per kg. These increases are a serious concern as both commodities are staple needs with a major influence on food inflation.

The rice sector also recorded considerable price variations. Premium quality rice was priced at Rp17,550 per kg, while medium quality rice stood at Rp16,250 per kg. For those seeking alternatives, lower quality rice was available at Rp14,500 per kg.

In the animal protein sector, besides eggs, the price of prime beef remained high at Rp149,100 per kg, while fresh chicken meat was recorded at Rp37,050 per kg. Other kitchen spices such as large red chillies and curly red chillies were in the range of Rp59,100 and Rp55,400 per kg respectively.

For sweeteners, premium granulated sugar was priced at Rp20,300 per kg and local granulated sugar at Rp19,100 per kg. Meanwhile, cooking oil prices remained volatile, with bulk cooking oil set at Rp20,600 per litre and branded packaging II at Rp23,300 per litre.
