For adrenaline junkies, Bali can be one of the most exciting islands in the world to explore. From world-class surf to the peaks of active volcanoes and white water rapids, there is some serious adventure to be had in Bali.

The island is taking its adrenaline-filled offering to the next level in 2026 and will be hosting the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series.

The Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series is one of the most exhilarating sporting events there is. It has been confirmed this week that the championship will host the first stop off in the series in Bali from the 20th to the 23rd of May.

Red Bull Cliff Diving shares that cliff diving is one of the oldest extreme sports in the world and still one of the purest tests of precision and control. In the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series, 12 men and 12 women line up at each stop of the season, chasing championship points across iconic global locations.”

Adding “From heights of 27 metres for men and 21 metres for women, athletes perform complex, high-difficulty acrobatic and artistic manoeuvres, judged by an expert panel on execution, form, and entry. At season’s end, the top-scoring men’s and women’s divers are crowned world champions and awarded the iconic King Kahekili Trophy along with the winner’s prize fund.”

The team always picks incredible locations for the series, with events previously held in destinations like El Nido, Oslo, and Mostar. This will be the first time the series is coming to Asia, and the event is set to attract huge crowds. The event will be hosted in none other than Nusa Penida.

Red Bull Cliff Diving has shared, “For the first event of the year, we are traveling to a brand-new location in Bali! kicking things off at Kroya waterfall with a first-ever tree take-off point in a World Series competition for the final rounds, we’re heading to the iconic Kelingking Beach at Nusa Penida, two iconic and natural Bali spots, one unforgettable season opener awaits.”

With the event starting at Kroya Waterfall, divers have to quickly adapt their training. At Kroya Waterfall, divers will be jumping out of a tree.

Red Bull Cliff Divers Molly Carlson and Morgane Herculano have already taken to social media to share their comical takes on training adaptation, bringing leaves up on the high dive platform.

The Deputy Regent of Klungkung, Tjokorda Gede Surya Purta, has spoken to reporters about the event and confirmed that the local government is ready to support the event and hopes that the occasion will help boost nature and sports tourism in Nusa Penida and across Bali.

More details will be announced in due course, including how speculators can gain access to this incredible event.

Sports and nature tourism are seeing a surge in demand in Bali. With tourists seeking to both connect with nature and stay fit and active while on vacation, Bali really ticks all the right boxes.

For those seeking something a little more extreme than the current health and wellness vacation trends, Bali has plenty to offer. Just days before hosting the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series, Bali will welcome the return of the annual Bali Trail Running Batur Ultra.

More than one hundred ultra-marathon and trail runners will gather around sacred Mount Batur to commence one of the biggest races in Indonesia.

Sign-ups are open now, and international trail runners are welcome to join the event. While the 106km Ultra is the biggest race of the two-day event, there are multiple race lengths to choose from, including a 60km, 30km, 18km, and 7km, all of which traverse the volcanic slopes of Kintamani.
