The National Strategic Food Price Information Centre (PIHPS), managed by Bank Indonesia, has released an update on red bird’s eye chilli prices today (4/6). Based on data collected as of 09:22 WIB, several strategic commodities have experienced significant fluctuations, with a prominent spike in the price of red bird’s eye chilli, which has now reached Rp84,400 per kilogram (kg).

In addition to the price of red bird’s eye chilli, the price of broiler eggs was also observed at a high level, at Rp31,350 per kg. This increase is a matter of concern given its impact on public purchasing power at the national retail trader level.

Other horticultural sectors, such as garlic, were recorded at a price of Rp37,750 per kg, while curly red chilli is priced at Rp55,100 per kg. For meat commodities, quality II beef stands at Rp141,800 per kg and fresh broiler chicken is set at Rp40,200 per kg.

In the rice sector, prices vary depending on quality. Super I quality rice is the highest at Rp16,950 per kg, followed by super II quality at Rp16,850 per kg. Meanwhile, medium I and II quality rice are priced at approximately Rp15,100 and Rp15,050 per kg, respectively.

PIHPS data serves as a reference for national average prices at the retail trader level. Price differences may occur in each region depending on the distribution chain and local stock availability.
