Red and White Village Cooperatives to Become Central Hub for Government Programme Distribution

President Prabowo Subianto chaired a limited meeting with several ministers of the Red and White Cabinet at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Thursday (23/7/2026). During the three-and-a-half-hour meeting, the President pushed for the acceleration of the Red and White Village Cooperatives, Red and White Sub-district Cooperatives, and Red and White Fishermen’s Cooperatives as drivers of community economic growth. Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan stated that the President has instructed all ministries and agencies to provide full support for the development of these cooperatives. This support also involves the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the National Police (Polri) to ensure the programme runs optimally across all regions. ‘The President has ensured that the Red and White Village Cooperatives, Red and White Sub-district Cooperatives, and Red and White Fishermen’s Cooperatives must be supported by all ministries and agencies. The TNI and Polri are also asked to provide full support for the success of the Red and White Village/Sub-district Cooperatives, firstly as government infrastructure and secondly as off-takers,’ Zulhas said during a press conference following the meeting. According to Zulhas, President Prabowo Subianto has designated the Red and White Cooperatives as the central hub for distributing various government programmes. He added that all subsidised goods and government assistance will be channelled through these cooperatives to ensure a more integrated and targeted distribution system. ‘The government infrastructure means that all subsidised goods and government assistance will be distributed through the Red and White Village Cooperatives or Red and White Sub-district Cooperatives,’ Zulhas stated.
