Red and White Fishermen's Village: A New Engine Driving Coastal Economy

The construction of the Red and White Fishermen’s Village (KNMP) in several regions has had a positive impact on the fishermen’s economy. In Jatimulyo Village, Jatimalang District, Purworejo, Central Java, hundreds of local fishermen have begun to feel the benefits of KNMP’s presence. Although not yet fully operational, KNMP, managed by the Red and White Village Cooperative, already has various programmes for local fishermen. These programmes include training on the latest outboard engines, boat repair, and GPS navigation device training to accurately detect fish gathering points.
