JAKARTA – Government efforts to strengthen operational capabilities across various sectors through vehicle procurement for fleet use are beginning to take shape. Motorcycles have become one of the prioritised vehicles because they are flexible, efficient, and capable of reaching areas difficult to access by four-wheeled vehicles.

Octavianus Dwi, Marketing Director of PT Astra Honda Motor (AHM), stated that the company is ready to support such requirements, although implementation will proceed in stages.

“This is not like automobiles that take units from India. Although the regulations stipulate that each Red and White Cooperative receives one truck, one pickup, and two motorcycles, it is actually an opportunity,” he said.

The statement confirms that motorcycles are included in the vehicle distribution scheme to support Red and White Cooperative operations.

“We will certainly support the process, but currently nobody has made purchases yet, so we will wait. Regarding models, the fleet segment is diverse and can be customised according to requirements,” Octavianus added.

As a manufacturer with an extensive distribution network, PT Astra Honda Motor is ensuring readiness from upstream to downstream operations.

After-sales service capability is a crucial factor in government fleet procurement. Operational motorcycles are typically used for daily activities with high intensity, requiring strong support in servicing, spare parts availability, and workshop networks throughout Indonesia.

“Currently, the dominant models are Revo and Verza. Occasionally there is the CRF150 for specific institutions such as the military, depending on the intended use,” he explained.
