Recycling Festival 'Langkah Membumi' Returns with a Fresh Face
Jakarta - The recycling festival ‘Langkah Membumi’ is returning with a fresh face in its fifth year, transforming into ‘Langkah Membumi Market’ to offer a more interactive, relevant, and easily applicable sustainability approach for daily life. This transformation was driven by findings from the event’s run since 2023, which showed that around 90 per cent of the Langkah Membumi audience came from Gen Z and young millennials. ‘We see that the younger generation is not only increasingly concerned about sustainability issues, but also more actively seeking products, services, and experiences that align with the values they believe in,’ said Blibli COO and Co-Founder Lisa Widodo, the event organiser, in a written statement on Sunday. Lisa believes Gen Z is increasingly aware of social and environmental issues, while also wielding significant influence over future consumption trends. ‘Therefore, Langkah Membumi Market 2026 is here to help bridge the gap between concern and real action through experiences that are more practical, participatory, and relevant to everyday life,’ Lisa said. To realise this goal, Langkah Membumi Market 2026 presents three main pillars. The first pillar is Inspiring Talks, offering ideas, perspectives, and inspirational stories from industry leaders, creators, communities, and changemakers driving change. The second pillar, Eco Labs, invites visitors to learn while trying through various workshops and interactive experiences, making a sustainable lifestyle feel closer and easier to adopt. Meanwhile, the Curated Market provides a space for various brands and business actors to showcase environmentally friendly products, services, and innovations that support a green lifestyle. The peak of the Langkah Membumi Market 2026 is scheduled to take place on 8–11 October 2026 at Grand Indonesia, Jakarta. To open the series of events, Blibli Tiket Action held the Langkah Membumi Networking Dinner 2026, coinciding with World Environment Day. The activity raised the theme ‘Who Should Change First: Companies or Consumers? Rethinking Sustainability Adoption through Business Transformation and Consumer Behaviour’. This forum served as a meeting place for around 60 industry leaders, business actors, communities, and changemakers to exchange perspectives while strengthening collaboration in promoting sustainability adoption in Indonesia. ‘We hope forums like this can open up more collaboration opportunities that have a positive impact on society, the environment, and sustainable economic growth,’ said Luke Ariefiandi, Strategic Communications and Brand Head of UOB Indonesia, one of the collaborators.
