Rector of Universitas Indonesia, Heri Hermansyah, has affirmed that UI is opening opportunities for all high school or equivalent students graduating in 2026 across the country to participate in the Prestasi dan Pemerataan Kesempatan Belajar (PPKB) pathway.

“As the name suggests, for the PPKB pathway, Prestasi dan Pemerataan Kesempatan Belajar. Of course, achievements come first,” said Heri after signing a memorandum of understanding with PP Muhammadiyah at the UI Convention Hall, Depok Campus, on Monday, 13 April 2026.

UI, according to Heri, is providing opportunities for all the nation’s children from various regions in Indonesia to realise educational equity through this pathway.

“If possible, students from all regions in Indonesia can succeed in becoming students at Universitas Indonesia, so that the name UI is truly realised from the distribution of its students. Universitas Indonesia, yes, a university that can accept students from all regions of Indonesia,” said Heri.

Nevertheless, Heri revealed that in addition to the PPKB pathway, there is the Seleksi Masuk Universitas Indonesia (SIMAK UI) and other achievement-based pathways.

“We are also adding another pathway, Global Talent, for international programmes,” said Heri.

It is known that for the UI PPKB pathway, schools can submit invitations by registering via email [email protected]. This pathway is divided into PPKB Vokasi (D3 and D4) and PPKB S1 Reguler, with criteria for applicants being 12th-grade or 3rd-year students of SMA/MA/SMK/equivalent graduating in 2026.

Registration takes place from 15 May to 19 June, and the selection basis is the students’ academic achievements during their education at their original school. The announcement will be made before 1 July 2026.
