Recruitment of the masses
Recruitment of the masses
From Kompas
Observing the ever deteriorating political developments occurring in this beloved country of ours, I feel sad and concerned, particularly over the political elite's conduct in administering this country. Greed and thirst for power are daily practices they take for granted as leaders. Recruitment of the masses to create and develop public opinion and show of force are not the only way to establish democracy. Stability of security and economy are the responsibility of the nation's leaders.
Stop the cold war among yourselves! Remember, no human being is perfect. The reform movement which is continuing now is not only due to your merits. This is a process carried out by all of us. You have been delegated the authority by the people to develop this country and its people. You should act for this nation's welfare, not in your own interests and that of your own groups!
Go on struggling! Hopefully the history will record you as leaders who will always be recalled as national heroes, not as the "pioneers" leading to the destruction of the Indonesian nation.
