A number of mothers went on a rampage at the Makan Bergizi Gratis (MBG) programme kitchen in Nungga Ward, Rasanae Timur District, Bima City, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). They protested because the recruitment of volunteers for the nutrition fulfilment service unit (SPPG) in this underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost (3T) area was deemed not to comply with standard operating procedure (SOP) or standard working procedures.

This protest action by the mothers was known from several video clips uploaded by the Facebook social media account @Nurul Haqiqi on Sunday (10/5/2026). The uploaded videos show a number of mothers voicing their aspirations regarding the SPPG volunteer recruitment.

“That happened this afternoon. We protested against the Nungga SPPG regarding the recruitment of MBG kitchen volunteers or employees that did not follow the SOP,” said Nurul when confirmed by detikBali.

Nurul revealed that the Nungga SPPG initially opened job vacancies as volunteers a few days ago. The vacancies were announced openly via Facebook. However, when operations began, the accepted volunteers were suspected to be close associates and referrals.

Nurul emphasised that the crowd actually did not object to who was accepted as volunteers, as that is the right of the SPPG. However, several accepted volunteers were suspected of never submitting application documents or going through the recruitment stages. “Even people declared failed or not passing could be accepted just because their parents raged,” explained Nurul.

In addition, the mothers also accused the Nungga SPPG partner of violating their own rules regarding the requirements to become an SPPG volunteer. For example, the age limit under 40 years and no family or kinship relations.

“However, in fact, there are those over 40 years old who were accepted as volunteers and those accepted also include blood siblings (younger and older siblings),” revealed Nurul.

The same was expressed by Ratna. She admitted to being disappointed with the Nungga SPPG volunteer recruitment process. This is because local residents or those domiciled near the MBG kitchen were declared not to pass. On the contrary, residents from areas quite far away were directly passed to work.

“From the beginning, it was also stated that volunteers have no nepotism element or in the same household. But in reality, those accepted include siblings and mother and child,” said Ratna.

Another video uploaded by Nurul Haqiqi also shows the SPPG partner arguing with the mothers. The kitchen partner on that occasion emphasised that the MBG kitchen being built is not government-owned.

“We here are only investing and building the MBG kitchen, spending nearly Rp 1 billion more in budget. Do not obstruct because you will face legal consequences,” said the MBG kitchen partner in the video.
