Reconstruction Task Force records 649 permanent housing units completed in Aceh

The figure of 649 completed units is proof of joint work, but we still face a major need that must be resolved.

Banda Aceh (ANTARA) - The Regional Post of the Aceh Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Acceleration Task Force (Satgas PRR) has recorded that 649 of the total 34,777 permanent housing units (huntap) required in Aceh have been completed.

“Overall, of the 649 huntap units completed in Aceh, contributions by funding source comprise 440 units from the Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation of Indonesia, 104 units from the Coordinating Ministry for Political and Security Affairs (Kemenko Polkam), 100 units from BNPB, and five units from the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin),” said Safrizal ZA, Head of the Satgas PRR Aceh Regional Post, in Banda Aceh on Monday.

Safrizal stated that the data was based on a recapitulation of huntap construction sourced from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) and the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP).

As of 5 September 2026, the completed huntap units are spread across five regencies: North Aceh Regency, Aceh Tamiang Regency, Bireuen Regency, East Aceh Regency, and Pidie Jaya Regency.

In Aceh Tamiang, 263 huntap units have been completed, comprising 200 units built by the Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation of Indonesia and 63 units through BNPB.

“Then, Bireuen Regency has 26 units completed through BNPB, East Aceh Regency has recorded four units completed through BNPB, and Pidie Jaya has recorded five units completed with Kadin funding,” he said.

Beyond the completed units, Safrizal continued, 1,785 huntap units in Aceh are still under construction, spread across Aceh Tamiang Regency with 1,019 units, Bireuen with 416 units, North Aceh with 284 units, and East Aceh with 66 units.

For information, the construction of huntap in Aceh involves several funding sources, namely BNPB, the Ministry of PKP, the National Police (Polri), Kadin, the Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation of Indonesia, Kemenko Polkam, and Caritas.

Safrizal reiterated that Satgas PRR, together with all its partners, continues to expedite the construction of permanent housing so that affected communities can soon have decent homes.
