Reconstruction of Taufik Hidayat Case Reveals Horrific Facts, Will Perpetrator Face Additional Charges?
A reconstruction of the case involving Taufik Hidayat, who is accused of unlawful confinement and abuse of his girlfriend YTR, was conducted by the West Java Regional Police on Thursday, 2 July 2026. The reconstruction aimed to match the suspect’s statements with the evidence gathered. Following the reconstruction, which took place on Thursday morning, various acts of violence committed by Taufik Hidayat were revealed. The Director of the Women and Children Protection and Human Trafficking Unit at the West Java Regional Police, Commissioner Rumi Untari, disclosed that at the sixth crime scene, where the victim was finally found, it was revealed that the perpetrator had disposed of the evidence used to strike the victim. The evidence, a metal leg from a portable table, was used by Taufik Hidayat to inflict serious injuries on the victim. The suspect admitted to discarding the item in a bin, and despite a search, it was not recovered due to the time elapsed since the incident. Additionally, a helmet used by the perpetrator to beat the victim was found shattered at the scene, with bloodstains on the fragments. The helmet and its pieces have been sent to the Police Medical and Health Centre in Jakarta for forensic examination.
