Jakarta (ANTARA) - The leadership dualism that once overshadowed the community organisation Laskar Merah Putih (LMP) has officially ended following an agreement on reconciliation between Adek Erfil Manurung and M. Arsyad Cannu, the General Chairman of LMP for the 2025–2030 period.

The reconciliation agreement was marked by a joint signing at the LMP Headquarters (Mabes) in Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta, on Tuesday (21/4).

In a written statement in Jakarta on Wednesday, Adek Erfil Manurung stated that this moment serves as an important milestone that ends the prolonged internal conflict.

Both leaders agreed to unite in order to strengthen the organisation and enhance LMP’s contributions to the nation and state.

Adek also stated his return to the organisation’s ranks and recognition of Arsyad Cannu’s leadership. He further affirmed his readiness to play a role as the Founding Council without involvement in the operational structure.

He also expressed his readiness to reactivate the strength of LMP cadres, which are claimed to number one million members across Indonesia.

“Today we are united. Insya Allah, there will be no more claims to be the General Chairman of Laskar Merah Putih. My brother Arsyad Cannu is a national figure. We have been together since Laskar Merah Putih was founded on 28 October 2000, and today we are united,” he explained.

Arsyad Cannu had previously obtained legal legitimacy as the General Chairman of LMP through a decision from the Jakarta Administrative Court (PTUN DKI Jakarta) and the West Jakarta District Court.

“We agree to unite and grow Laskar Merah Putih from Sabang to Merauke together with my brother Adek Erfil Manurung,” he said.

He also invited all members to respect the services of previous leaders and to instil values of unity, brotherhood, and fighting spirit for the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).

In addition, Arsyad emphasised the importance of synergy between LMP and the government, TNI, and Polri in maintaining national stability.

Meanwhile, Togap Simangunsong, the Acting Director General of Politics and General Government at the Ministry of Home Affairs, who witnessed the signing, encouraged all LMP cadres to maintain the organisation’s solidarity.

“We hope this reconciliation becomes a momentum for Laskar Merah Putih. Both are great figures, and I know them well. Of course, we hope LMP can be great and prosperous,” said Togap.
