Jakarta (ANTARA) - If you have the day off but no plans at the start of Ramadhan, there is no need to simply sit at home waiting to break the fast.

These recommendations from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Tourism and Creative Economy Agency may serve as alternative options for filling the weekend holiday.

The following are recommended activities in the capital, as published on the official Instagram page of the DKI Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf) for 21–22 February 2026:

**1. Irama Ramadhan 2026 "Ramadhankustik"**

Sunda Kelapa Grand Mosque is presenting a music performance, storytelling and communal gathering themed "Ramadhankustik: Music and Stories", forming part of its 55th anniversary celebrations.

The event, planned for Saturday and Sunday, will feature a number of well-known performers including the music group Debu, Orkes Gambus, Queen Lala and many more.

In addition, the event will offer free health checks and colouring activities for children.

Days: Saturday–Sunday, 21–22 February 2026
Time: 13:30–17:30 WIB
Venue: Sunda Kelapa Grand Mosque, Central Jakarta
Admission: Free

**2. "Looking for the East" Exhibition**

The North Jakarta Maritime Museum is hosting an exhibition entitled "Looking for the East", inviting visitors to trace the footsteps of Indonesia's maritime glory. The exhibition also serves as an educational experience about how the sea, navigation and trade have shaped the civilisation of the archipelago since ancient times.

For Jakarta residents and tourists alike, this exhibition is an essential educational destination. It also provides an activity to fill the time whilst waiting to break the fast.

Days: Until 26 March 2026
Time: 08:00–15:00 WIB
Venue: Jakarta Maritime Museum, North Jakarta
Admission: Rp5,000–Rp15,000

**3. Lunar New Year Market**

With Ramadhan falling close to Lunar New Year 2026, the Lunar New Year Market is not to be missed. A variety of events ranging from UMKM bazaars to cultural arts performances form the attraction.

The SCBD Lunar New Year Market, which has been running since Tuesday 3 February, features diverse culinary offerings and UMKM products, as well as cultural performances blending Betawi and Chinese traditions.

Visitors may attend whilst waiting to break the fast or plan to break their fast on site.

Days: Until 26 March 2026
Time: 07:00–22:00 WIB
Venue: Lane in front of SCBD, South Jakarta
Admission: Free

**4. "Imba: From Abstraction to Abstractionism" Exhibition**

For lovers of abstract art, the "Imba: From Abstraction to Abstractionism" exhibition is not to be missed. The exhibition showcases more than 80 works spanning the 1950s to 2025.

It offers a deep reading of the development of formalist approaches — a theory of art and literary criticism focused on the analysis of intrinsic elements such as structure, form, rhyme, style and technique rather than external meaning, history or the artist's biography — in Indonesian painting and sculpture.

Days: Saturday–Sunday, 21–22 February 2026
Time: 11:00–19:00 WIB
Venue: Salihara Gallery, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta
Admission: Rp25,000–Rp35,000

**5. Temporary Exhibition: Crimson Gilt**

For history enthusiasts, particularly those interested in Indonesia's maritime past, the "Crimson Gilt" art installation exhibition should be on the must-visit list.

The exhibition invites visitors to delve into the traces of the archipelago's maritime history within the context of colonialism and global trade networks.

Furthermore, the exhibition forms part of a series of events in anticipation of Jakarta's 500th anniversary, whilst strengthening Jakarta's role as a global city rooted in history and open to cross-cultural dialogue.

Days: Until 7 April 2026
Time: 08:00–15:00 WIB
