The Board of Executives of the Association of Indonesian
Journalists (PWI Jaya) Jakarta, in its March 20, 1995 meeting,
decided that its recommendation once given to Goenawan Mohamad to
become Chief Editor of Swasembada weekly is null and void,
because his membership of PWI Jaya was dropped.

This decision was taken as a follow-up to the decision made on
March 17, 1995 when the Association announced that the PWI
membership of 13 journalists who signed the Sinargalih
Declaration on Aug. 7, 1994 was null and void, in which Goenawan
Mohamad is included.

The publisher of Swasembada accepted the decision and would
soon propose other candidate to replace Goenawan Mohamad.
