JAKARTA — A “telolet” bus driver was ticketed by police whilst driving recklessly on Ciputat Flyover in South Tangerang on Saturday afternoon, 28 February 2026.

Video footage of the reckless bus driving was shared on Instagram account @tangsel.life. The footage shows a red bus weaving from side to side, with its body tilting alternately to the right and left.

The distinctive “telolet” horn sound was clearly audible as the bus passed. Several motorcycle riders were seen following the bus nearby. Passengers seated on the bus could be seen holding up mobile phones to record the incident.

The driver repeatedly waved at the motorcyclists following them. Traffic Police Chief of South Tangerang, AKP Danny Trisespianto Arief Sutarman, stated that the bus driver had been called in for questioning and underwent examination.

“We called in the driver. We conducted a urine test and human error assessment. However, the results came back negative for drugs,” Danny told Kompas.com on Monday, 2 March 2026.

He confirmed that officers had ticketed the bus driver. “We do not condone reckless bus driving of this nature. Therefore, we have taken enforcement and ticketing action against the driver,” he explained.

The incident has been followed up by the South Tangerang Police Traffic Unit. “We investigated the bus operator. The South Tangerang Traffic Unit has now taken action,” said Komarudin.
