Bekasi — KAI Commuter’s Public Relations Manager Leza Arlan has warned all Commuter Line users to adhere to safety procedures when boarding and alighting from trains. This follows a viral social media video showing passengers on the Walahar local train disembarking while the train was still moving. “We urge Commuter Line users not to open doors before the train has come to a complete stop,” Leza stated in a press release on Friday, 29 May 2026. Such actions endanger passenger safety, with footage showing individuals losing balance and falling after stepping onto the platform while the train was still in motion. According to Leza, a recurring violation is jumping on or off trains before they have fully stopped at the station platform. “One such violation is jumping on or off before the train has completely stopped at the station platform,” Leza said. He also reminded passengers to let those alighting go first, watch for gaps between the platform and train, and queue orderly when boarding or alighting. Leza stated the warnings aim to prevent accidents caused by passengers hastily alighting while the train is moving. He noted that disembarking before the train has fully stopped is a serious safety breach that endangers both individuals and others on the platform. “This can harm both oneself and other passengers waiting on the platform,” Leza said. “Such incidents typically occur at transit stations of KAJJ or local trains operating under the Commuter Line Jabodetabek service,” he added. In addition to reminding adult passengers, KAI Commuter has urged parents to supervise children closely in station areas, particularly on platforms. He expressed hope that all users would comply with safety rules to ensure safe and comfortable travel for everyone. “By adhering to these simple rules, we not only protect ourselves but also respect other passengers’ right to a safe, comfortable, and secure journey,” he said.
