Recipient of Hoegeng Awards 2026, Iptu Motalip Shares Lack of Official Housing in Nduga
Iptu Motalip Litiloly, the Head of Samapta at the Nduga Police Station, Papua Regional Police, has been honoured with the Hoegeng Awards 2026 in the category of Police in Border and Remote Areas. During the Hoegeng Awards 2026 ceremony held at The Tribrata Darmawangsa in South Jakarta on Friday (31/07/2026), Iptu Motalip expressed his urgent need for official residential housing in Nduga.
When questioned by National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Iptu Motalting shared the hardships faced by his colleagues, noting that even barracks for personnel are extremely limited. “With all due respect, General, our principle in Nduga Regency is simple: to work with heart. Please ensure there is no violence against the people of Nduga,” he stated.
Responding to an inquiry regarding personal requests, Iptu Motalip highlighted the current living situation of Nduga Police personnel. “General, looking at the current condition of personnel at the Nduga Police Station, we do not yet have housing or barracks. Even the officers’ quarters are shared by three people, and the non-commissioned officers’ barracks are as cramped as being on a ship. I request, General, that a proper police station and official housing be established for our personnel there,” Motalip explained.
General Sigit responded by instructing the Deputy Chief of Police, the Head of Personnel, and the Head of Logistics to immediately convene a meeting to discuss the troops’ request.
In a more personal note, Iptu Motalip also expressed his hope that his daughter, who has recently completed high school, might follow in his footsteps by joining the Indonesian National Police (Polri) as a female officer.
