Receiving the Kartini Award 2026, Siti Fauziah Affirms Dedication to the Nation
Siti recounted that in her career journey, she has focused more on carrying out duties and serving the nation. Siti also expressed feelings of surprise as well as gratitude because her work and dedication have apparently received attention and appreciation from others. “I have never pursued a career with the aim of receiving awards. I only carry out my duties and dedicate myself to the nation,” said Siti in her statement on Saturday (2/5/2026). “It turns out that there are other parties who observe and give appreciation, and that makes me surprised as well as grateful,” she added. Siti also highlighted her achievement as the first woman to occupy the highest position in the Secretariat General of the MPR RI, which became one of the considerations for the judging panel. Her career journey, which started from the bottom until reaching a strategic position, is seen as reflecting the spirit of today’s Kartini. “From zero, I pursued a career in the MPR until finally I could reach this position. Perhaps the judging panel saw that journey as a form of consistency and efforts to make improvements in every work unit I have been in,” explained Siti. Furthermore, Siti emphasised that this award is not the main goal in working. Siti instead encouraged Indonesian women to focus on dedication and quality of work. “I hope Indonesian women do not pursue careers just to chase positions or awards. Pursue a career and dedicate yourself as best as possible, because in the end there will be parties who evaluate and give appreciation,” Siti advised. Meanwhile, the General Chair of the Indonesian Converged Media Association (AMKI), Ir Tundra Meliala, said that this award is an effort to strengthen the role of women in the media ecosystem and society. Tundra also mentioned that the spirit of RA Kartini is the main inspiration in organising the event. According to Tundra, women now have an important role in driving change, including amid media convergence and digital transformation. “This is not just an award, but a form of recognition for the role of Indonesian women who continue to contribute in various strategic sectors,” Tundra stated. Through the Kartini Award 2026 event, AMKI awarded 11 female figures who are assessed to have played roles in leadership, public policy, to social and humanitarian work amid the dynamics of the digital era. This event also serves as a symbol of recognition and a form of respect for Indonesian women who are judged to have made real contributions in the fields of government, social, health, law, to community empowerment.
