The chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), Bestari Barus, has revealed that the agenda for the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), to visit a number of regions is still being compiled. One of the areas currently being prepared for a visit is East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province. “God willing, NTT is on the list. NTT is being prepared very seriously,” said Bestari after meeting Jokowi at his residence in Sumber, Solo City, Central Java, on Monday (13/7/2026).

According to him, Jokowi has received numerous invitations from various regions requesting his presence. This has led to each agenda item needing to be verified first to ensure it aligns with the objectives of the visit. “NTT is being prepared seriously because there will be many points to cover. Until those points are finalised, you see? Because when someone extends an invitation, we have to check its depth,” said the former Nasdem Party politician.

“We need to know who is inviting, what the event is, so that it does not turn out to be an invitation for the people to meet Mr Jokowi but then other matters are discussed. It must be scrutinised first. And there are very many, invitations have been sent out from all 38 provinces,” Bestari added.

During the meeting, Bestari also mentioned that Jokowi received Ustaz Ujang Bustomi from Cirebon and KH Muhammad Zulfa from the Al-Falah Islamic Boarding School in Kebumen. “The meeting earlier was Mr Jokowi receiving our Kiai friends, the head of an Islamic boarding school from West Java, Cirebon, Mr Ustaz Ujang Bustomi, and from Al-Falah Islamic Boarding School in Kebumen, KH Muhammad Zulfa,” Bestari said. According to him, the two religious leaders expressed a wish for Jokowi to visit them. “This relates to their desire to invite him, perhaps in connection with the safaris later. Gus Zulfa is in Central Java, while Ustaz Ujang Bustomi is in Cirebon. So it is connected, and it seems Mr Jokowi is expected to come,” Bestari concluded.
