The National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) received an award from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) during the 2026 National Statistics Day (HSN) Awards ceremony. The event took place in Jakarta on Saturday night (26/09/2026).

The award was presented directly by the Head of BPS RI, Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, to the Head of BSSN, Nugroho Sulistyo Budi, in the presence of several high-ranking state officials, including the Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, the Chair of the OJK Board of Commissioners Friderica Widyasari Dewi, and the Chair of the LPS Board of Commissioners Anggito Abimanyu.

During the event, the Head of BSSN, Nugroho, expressed his deep gratitude and high appreciation to BPS for the recognition. He asserted that digital transformation and national data sovereignty can only be realised if supported by a resilient cybersecurity system.

“Government digitalisation is an absolute necessity,” he stated. However, Nugroho noted that behind this transformation and the digital economy, there must be a strong foundation, namely cybersecurity and cryptography.

He stated that this award serves as tangible evidence of the dedication of the entire BSSN staff in guarding and overseeing the national data ecosystem, including supporting the implementation of ‘One Data Indonesia’ to ensure it remains free from cyber threats.

Furthermore, the Head of BSSN, Nugroho, emphasised that this aligns with the directives of President Prabowo Subianto regarding the importance of building the government as a single entity, or ‘Government Incorporated’.

The concept of ‘Government Incorporated’ (or ‘Indonesia Incorporated’ in a national context) is a paradigm where all government agencies, state institutions, and related sectors work as a single unit, much like one large corporation. Under this concept, the principles of mutual assistance and cross-sector collaboration are key to achieving national goals, rather than working in silos.

He added that bureaucratic silos must be eliminated, for instance, through mutual data sharing. Government agencies should no longer store data solely for their own use. “Through the One Data system, inter-ministerial bodies can access information in real-time to accelerate public services,” explained the Head of BSSN, Nugroho.
