Recall of absent councillors urged

BANDA ACEH, Aceh: The Forum of Communications for 27 Political
Parties (FK27PB) has called on the Aceh provincial legislative
council to recall councillors Pogek Bancin and Afdal Yasin
Panglima Bareh, who have been absent for six months.

"Councillors who have been on a six-month leave for unclear
reasons should be recalled and should not be given a monthly
salary," Ridwan M.R., chairman of FK27PB, said on Tuesday.

He said the two councillors had not attended the legislative
meetings over the last six months and spent most of their time
outside the province.

Azhari Basar, chairman of the legislature's Golkar Party
faction said he had sent several letters asking Pogek of the
Golkar Party to return but so far no response had been received
by the legislative council.

"We also hope the National Awakening Party will give a similar
reprimand to Afdal Yasit."
