Reasons Why Thom Haye Missed Two Persib Bandung Matches in the Super League

Persib Bandung has once again achieved victory in the absence of Indonesian national team midfielder, Thom Haye. In the 23rd week of the Super League, on Thursday (February 26, 2026), the Persib vs. Madura United match ended with a score of 5-0.

Previously, Persib Bandung also won 1-0 against Persita Tangerang without the midfielder. Persib coach Bojan Hodak confirmed that Thom was absent due to family matters.

Assistant coach Igor Tolic stated that the player’s condition is being closely monitored and he is expected to return soon.

“Regarding Thom Haye’s condition, I think he was not able to play in this match,” said Igor Tolic before the match against Madura United, as reported by BolaSport.

“But for the next match, he will be ready.”

“The next match after this is against Persebaya, and I think he will be ready for that match,” he added.

If all goes according to plan, Thom Haye is likely to appear when Persib faces Persebaya Surabaya on March 2.

The French defender came on in the 73rd minute, replacing Kakang Rudianto.

Bojan had previously explained the reason for not immediately playing Kurzawa regularly.

He believes that the player’s physical condition needs to be maintained because he had not played for a long time.

“We just gave him (Kurzawa) a rest,” said Bojan.

“We also didn’t want to force him because he played in the last match.”

“He hasn’t played for a long time.”

“If I keep playing him as in a tight schedule, he could get injured,” he added.

This convincing victory marks the second consecutive positive result for Persib without Thom Haye.

The team continues to maintain its performance while waiting for the midfielder’s return in the next match in the Super League.
