Reasons Why Prabowo Dismissed BGN Head Dadan Hindayana and Two Deputies
President Prabowo Subianto has dismissed Dadan Hindayana and two deputy heads of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN). The President subsequently appointed Nanik Sudaryati Deyang as the Head of the BGN to replace Dadan. Additionally, Lodewyk Pusung and Sony Sonjaya were removed and replaced by Agustina Arumsari and Major General TNI Trenggono as the new Deputy Heads of the BGN.
The Minister of State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi, stated that the decision was made after the President conducted monitoring and evaluation of the BGN’s performance in implementing the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme over the past 1.5 years. “Naturally, during 1.5 years of monitoring and evaluation, there were many notes that subsequently became the basis for the President’s consideration to carry out this replacement, with the hope that those notes can be promptly addressed,” Prasetyo said during a press conference on Tuesday.
He explained that several of these notes related to discipline in following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), governance, and the maintenance of food quality within the MBG programme. “Some pertain to issues of discipline in implementing SOPs, some relate to issues of discipline in governance, including discipline in maintaining the quality of food that should have been established by the National Nutrition Agency,” he added.
Prasetyo ensured that the leadership change at the BGN would not disrupt the ongoing Free Nutritious Meal programme. He stated that despite this leadership transition, the MBG programme will continue. “The government reiterates that this change in leadership will not interfere with our commitment to implementing the free nutritious meal programme carried out by the BGN,” he said.
