Reasons Behind Reporter's Complaint Against Rismon Regarding the Book 'Gibran End Game'
Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar has been reported to Polda Metro Jaya on suspicion of fraud and deceitful acts related to a book titled Gibran End Game. The report was filed by former Morowali DPRD Chairman Irwan Arya on Friday (24/4). The report has been received and registered under number LP/B/2952/IV/2026/SPKT/POLDA METRO JAYA. Irwan claims to have been harmed after purchasing a significant number of the books. He states that he initially planned to buy 200 to 300 copies but only realised the purchase of 60 books. “I am reporting Mr Rismon Sianipar because I feel deceived after buying the book ‘Gibran End Game’, where I planned to buy 200 to 300 books and have only paid for 60 books,” Irwan told reporters. Irwan explained that the purchase was made during a car-free day event on Jalan MH Thamrin, Central Jakarta, in January 2026. He was interested in buying the book due to the material presented by the author. The total payment for the 60 books amounted to Rp6,002,500. However, according to Irwan, controversy arose after Rismon made statements that contradicted the book’s content. He claims to have been shocked because the author is said to no longer acknowledge the truth of the material in his book. “Over time, suddenly a very shocking statement emerged for me. I was shocked and did not expect Mr Rismon to cancel and not acknowledge that this is a book he wrote that is true. And he stated that the contents of this book are lies and fake according to him,” he said. On that basis, Irwan decided to take legal action. In his report, he included evidence in the form of the Gibran End Game book and proof of payment for the purchase. Rismon is reported for alleged violations of Article 492 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 486 of the Criminal Code. There has been no statement from Rismon regarding this report. Previously, Rismon was also implicated in a case of false diploma allegations against the 7th President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo. In that case, he was once designated as a suspect by the police. However, the legal process ended after Rismon submitted a restorative justice application, which was approved by Jokowi as the reporter. Director of General Criminal Investigation at Polda Metro Jaya, Iman Imanuddin, stated that they have revoked Rismon’s suspect status and issued a letter of discontinuation of investigation (SP3). “A letter of discontinuation of investigation against suspect Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar has been issued on 14 April 2026,” Iman said during a press conference on Friday (17/4).
