Reasons Behind Andrie Yunus's Refusal of Visit from Military Auditors at RSCM

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Four personnel from the Military Audit Office II-07 Jakarta visited Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) in Cikini, Central Jakarta, to see Vice Coordinator of KontraS, Andrie Yunus, on Tuesday (12/5/2026).

The four auditors present were Lieutenant Colonel Chk Muhammad Iswadi, Major Chk Wasinton Marpaung, Lieutenant Colonel Chk Upen Jaya Supena, and Captain Chk Citra Dewi Manurung.

However, their arrival was rejected by Andrie. He refused to be visited.

At 11.03 WIB, the four auditors left the building and gave statements to reporters.

“We, this afternoon, from a humanitarian perspective, wanted to visit or see Brother Andrie Yunus,” said Lieutenant Colonel Chk Muhammad Iswadi when giving his statement.

Iswadi stated that the auditors also wanted to express empathy and sympathy to Andrie.

However, the intention to visit did not receive permission from the medical team and the Advocacy Team for Democracy (TAUD), as Andrie Yunus’s legal representatives.

Therefore, on Tuesday, the four auditors only met with RSCM management, the medical team, and TAUD.

“Brother Andrie Yunus has just finished undergoing surgery and today, post-surgery, he is still in the recovery process, so indeed he cannot be visited,” said Iswadi.

Based on the doctor’s explanation, Andrie Yunus’s right shoulder must remain immobile for the time being after the surgery.

If there is even slight movement from the static position, there is a potential for the surgery results to fail.

“So we understand Brother Andrie Yunus’s situation,” Iswadi stated.

According to him, by seeing directly, the audit team could get an idea of which articles would later be applied to the four acid attack perpetrators.

The four perpetrators, namely Sergeant Two Edi Sudarko, First Lieutenant Budhi Hariyanto Widhi, Captain Nandala Dwi Prasetya, and First Lieutenant Sami Lakka, are currently undergoing trial at the Jakarta Military Court.

“Our military audit team can apply which articles are appropriate to demand from the defendants, if we could see Brother Andrie Yunus’s situation and the doctor’s explanation,” Iswadi said.

“But because the condition is like this, we cannot meet Brother Andrie Yunus,” he continued.

Iswadi said the results of the visit to RSCM would be reported to the Head of the Military Audit Office Jakarta.
