JAKARTA, (Xinhua) -- Real Madrid is planning to open football schools in Indonesia in an attempt to scout local talent, a business partner of the Spanish football club said here on Tuesday.
Toho Cholik Mutohir, head of Indonesian Education League (LPI), Real Madrid's Indonesian partner, said six cities - Banda Aceh, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Samarinda, Makassar and Jayapura, have been proposed to host the Real Madrid football schools.
"The plan to open Real Madrid football schools was the implementation of our agreement signed in Madrid, Spain on April 4 this year," Toho was quoted as saying by the Antara news service.
Toho added that the Real Madrid schools would recruit best football talents aged between 6 to 17 years old in this region.
"Those who demonstrate excellent football skills would have the chance to receive Real Madrid's scholarship to undertake advanced training in the club's training center in Spain from 2012 to 2013," said Toho.
