Ready to Support Prabowo in 2029 Presidential Election, Cak Imin: PKB Must Be Realistic

JAKARTA - The General Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB), Muhaimin Iskandar, stated that his party will support the General Chairman of the Gerindra Party, Prabowo Subianto, because he is confident that he will win the 2029 Presidential Election (Pilpres).

“Mr Prabowo, if he runs, will definitely win, and we support the winner,” said the man familiarly known as Cak Imin when giving a statement after the Halal Bihalal and Cadre Appreciation event at the PKB DPP Office, Jakarta, on Friday (10/4/2026).

Cak Imin is convinced that Prabowo still has a chance to win and serve a second term, so PKB chooses to be realistic.

“In 2029, Mr Prabowo will still run and is still very strong, which is why PKB must be realistic,” he said.

“We (PKB) are not yet thinking about 2029 in terms of myself personally; the party comes first,” Muhaimin added.

Previously reported, PKB has emphasised that in the 2029 General Election (Pemilu), PKB will no longer be a party that merely survives.

PKB is ready to become bigger and targets its General Chairman, Muhaimin Iskandar, to sit in the presidential or vice-presidential seat.

To achieve this grand target, Hanif said that PKB needs to ensure its cadre development runs well.

Moreover, in the upcoming political arena, the competition will be more competitive and pragmatic.
