Ready for 'War' in 2029, Kaesang Targets Completion of PSI Structure Down to Village Level

JAKARTA - The General Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), Kaesang Pangarep, stated that the party’s organisational structure continues to show significant development. In front of representatives from the Regional Leadership Councils (DPW), Kaesang said that to date, the formation of Branch Leadership Councils (DPC) at the district level has reached 74%. “We emphasise to our DPW friends that the path ahead should be much better,” Kaesang said in his speech at the DPP-DPW PSI consolidation event at the Santika Premier Hotel, Slipi, West Jakarta, on Sunday (12/4/2026). Kaesang revealed that, based on the party’s internal records, the number of established DPCs has reached 5,372 units across Indonesia. “For me, this is a very, very good achievement, because when I first led this party, everything was still empty; even many DPWs were vacant. But, alhamdulillah, now we have district representatives and more than 5,000,” he said. Kaesang also outlined several regions that have performed best in forming the party structure. Several provinces have even achieved 100% DPC formation, such as East Java, Central Java, South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, West Kalimantan, Banten, DI Yogyakarta, Bali, Bangka Belitung, and DKI Jakarta. In addition, several other areas have shown high achievements, including Central Sulawesi (92%), North Sulawesi (94%), West Sulawesi (94%), and Lampung, which is said to have reached around 92%. He noted that this situation is reasonable because the leadership in those areas is still relatively new. Kaesang explained that the chairmen of the DPWs in those regions have only recently received their Decree Letters (SK). “This is because all the SKs are still very new,” he said. Looking ahead, Kaesang emphasised that PSI’s focus is to continue forming structures down to the village level or Branch Leadership Councils (DPRt). He mentioned a target of forming 84,014 village structures, which he acknowledged is no easy task. In addition, he also reminded the importance of preparing for the party verification stages in 2027 before entering the 2029 election contest. “But don’t forget, before we’re ready for war in 2029, we need to prepare for verification in 2027 first,” he added.
