Readiness of National Parks and Nature Tourism Parks for Eid Holiday, Forestry Minister: President Prabowo Emphasises Zero Waste and Zero Accident
Forestry Minister (Menhut) Raja Juli Antoni held an online coordination meeting with 57 National Parks (TN) and 145 Nature Tourism Parks (TWA) to ensure readiness for the Idul Fitri holiday. Menhut Raja Antoni emphasised President Prabowo Subianto’s directives of zero waste and zero accident.
In his instructions, Menhut conveyed that President Prabowo Subianto has given special attention to the readiness of information and services in TN and TWA areas. The government observes an increase in public interest in nature tourism during the holiday period.
“President Prabowo gave me instructions regarding information from TN/TWA that is available during the holiday; there is a market from the public who want to visit TN-TWA during the Idul Fitri holiday,” said Forestry Minister Raja Antoni while giving directions via Zoom on Wednesday (18/3).
Referring to the President’s directives, Menhut emphasised that the management of conservation areas must prioritise the zero waste principle. This includes providing adequate rubbish bins and sufficient cleaning staff to preserve the environment.
In addition, the zero accident principle is also a priority by ensuring the readiness of safety facilities, such as medical teams, ambulances, health centres, and clear signage at every tourist location.
“President Prabowo also requests that the management of TN-TWA pay attention to zero waste, have rubbish bins and sufficient personnel. Then prioritise zero accident, so that there are no casualties due to insufficient safety facilities; prepare medical teams, ambulances, or adequate health centres,” said Menhut Raja Antoni.
Raja Antoni also reminded of the importance of controlling the number of visitors according to the carrying capacity and capacity of the area, to prevent excessive density that could potentially cause safety risks or environmental damage. TN and TWA are also asked to ensure that the quota system runs optimally so that the tourist experience remains safe and comfortable.
“Ensure that visitors to TN and TWA do not exceed the set quota, so as not to exceed the carrying capacity and capacity that causes queues to overflow from tourists,” he said.
