Reaching Rp498.8T, Q1/2026 Investment Realisation Secures 24% of Annual Target
The Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/BKPM has recorded investment realisation for Q1/2026 at Rp498.8 trillion. This achievement equates to 24.4% of the total annual target set at Rp2.041.3 trillion. Although nominal figures have increased, the year-on-year growth rate has slowed to 7.2% compared to the previous period’s 15.9%. Geopolitical dynamics and global economic uncertainty pose the main challenges affecting the pace of business expansion. However, positive news comes from the job absorption side, which has surged sharply by 18.9% year-on-year. A total of 706,569 people have been absorbed into various new job sectors over the first three months of this year. “Amid global challenges, both geopolitical and geoeconomic, the investment target for the first quarter of 2026 has been met and slightly exceeded expectations,” stated Rosan Roeslani on Thursday (23/4). The composition of investment is still dominated by Foreign Direct Investment (PMA), contributing Rp250.0 trillion or 50.1% of the total realisation. Singapore, Hong Kong, and China remain the top three countries providing the largest capital inflows domestically. The downstreaming sector shows strong performance with total investment reaching Rp147.5 trillion, contributing nearly 30% of the overall achievement. Specifically, investment in oil and gas downstreaming recorded a drastic surge from Rp6.55 trillion to Rp17.7 trillion. Meanwhile, Domestic Direct Investment (PMDN) contributed Rp248.8 trillion with 6.0% growth.
