'RCTI' told to get building permit

JAKARTA (JP): The West Jakarta administration has urged the private television station RCTI to apply for building permits for its newly-constructed tower and building at its existing complex.

"We want RCTI's management to abide by the procedures on constructing new buildings," Sofyan Hadi, the chief of the City development supervision agency said yesterday.

The tower and the new building are located in the compound of the existing RCTI station on Jl. Pejuangan, Kebun Jeruk, West Jakarta.

Sofyan said the action had nothing to do with the television station's daily activities, meaning that RCTI is still allowed to use the new tower and building while the permits are being processed.

Meanwhile, RCTI's director for operations, Alex Kumara, said that RCTI would apply for the permits soon. (jun)
