RCTI to interview CNN's Peter Arnett

JAKARTA (JP): The private television station RCTI has invited
Peter Arnett, a renowned journalist from the international
television network CNN, for an exclusive interview at the
Mercantile Athletic Club on Monday.

Seasoned journalist Arnett shot to worldwide fame for his
extensive coverage of the Gulf War in 1991, when Baghdad was
bombed by American and allied air forces.

Chrys Kelana, chief editor of the Seputar Indonesia (Across
the Archipelago) program on RCTI, said the interview would be
very valuable to improving the quality of journalists, especially
those working for television networks.

"We should make the most of an in-depth interview with a
television reporter of Arnett's caliber to exchange views, ideas
and experiences regarding journalistic tasks," said Chrys, a
senior journalist who previously worked for the Kompas daily.
