'RCTI' goes online
JAKARTA (JP): Privately-owned TV station RCTI has gone online
through Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 Thursday, featuring
dynamic visual, text and audio displays.
RCTI president M.S. Ralie Siregar told a press conference
Thursday that anybody in any part of the world who was interested
in Indonesian business and the country's economy could learn much
from RCTI's website.
It provides information on various subjects, ranging from news
-- Indonesia Today -- and technology to daily TV program
schedules.
RCTI's multimedia manager, Jundi Karjadi, said: "It works on
any site, and uses a simplified web crawler."
The RCTI Online Channel is accessible to Internet users at
http://www.rcti.co.id/channel/, with a minimum modem-speed of
28.8 required.
Microsoft's Internet customer manager for Indonesia, Paul
Hardiman, said RCTI was the sole Indonesian TV station selected
by Microsoft to be an Internet content provider, being one among
nine Default channels for Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0.
"Default channels provide nationwide information and serve as
online representatives of the nation," he said. "Microsoft
Internet Explorer 4.0 can be downloaded at
http://www.microsoft.com/ie/ie40/." (02)
