'RCTI' awarded as favorite TV station
JAKARTA (JP): Private TV station RCTI won 15 of the 36 awards
at the Panasonic Awards 1997 here on Friday night.
Viewers voted RCTI their favorite TV station and Seputar
Indonesia their favorite TV show. RCTI anchors Desi Anwar and
Adolf Posumah were named people's favorite news presenters.
The Panasonic Awards 1997, telecast live by Indosiar, was
organized jointly by electronics maker PT National Panasonik
Gobel, tabloid Citra and Indosiar.
Information Minister R. Hartono attended the event.
Citra's managing editor, H. Maman Suherman, said the winners
were chosen by viewers who answered questionnaires distributed to
readers of Citra, magazines Hai, Tiara, Kawanku, Nova and Jakarta
Jakarta, newspapers Banjarmasin Pos, Bernas, Sriwijaya Pos,
Serambi Indonesia and Surya.
In the acting categories, Desy Ratnasari won the favorite
telestar award, while the award for favorite drama actor went to
Si Doel Anak Sekolahan's (Doel the Scholar) Rano Karno and that
for favorite drama actress to Paramitha Rusadi from Janjiku (My
Promise).
Basuki won the award for favorite comedy actor and Ulfa
Dwiyanti was named favorite comedy actress.
Although teleseries Si Doel Anak Sekolahan lost the favorite
drama award to Janjiku, it grabbed the favorite culture
teleseries award. The award for favorite comedy-drama went to
Gara Gara (Because of It), while Spontan (Spontaneous) was named
the comedy nondrama favorite with its producer Septian Dwicahyo
winning the award for favorite comedy producer.
In the music show categories, Hedi Yunus won the award for
favorite male host and Dian Nitami for favorite female host.
The favorite quiz show award went to ANteve's Famili 100
(Family 100) program and Sonny Tulung was named favorite male
quiz presenter. Ulfa Dwiyanti won the award for favorite female
quiz presenter.
Buah Bibir (Gossip) was named favorite talkshow, and the award
for favorite male talkshow host went to Wimar Witoelar, while
Ingrid Widjanarko won the award for favorite female talkshow
host.
In the children's show category, the favorite female presenter
award went to Eno Ceria and the favorite male presenter award to
Yoga Pratama.
At Friday's ceremony, the president of PT Nasional Panasonik
Gobel, Rachmat Gobel, presented a special award to state-owned
TVRI director, Aziz Husein, for the station's contribution to
Indonesia's television industry. (02)
