Razman Arif Nasution officially detained at Cipinang Prison

Jakarta - Convicted defamer Razman Arif Nasution has been officially detained at the Class I Cipinang Penitentiary in East Jakarta. The head of the prison, Syarpani, confirmed the reception was based on an official letter from the North Jakarta Prosecutor’s Office regarding the execution of a legally binding court ruling. The reception process took place on Thursday at around 4.20 p.m. Western Indonesian Time. Nasution was found guilty of violating Article 27 paragraph (3) in conjunction with Article 45 paragraph (3) of Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions. He was sentenced to one year and six months in prison and fined Rp200 million, with a subsidiary penalty of four months’ imprisonment if the fine is not paid. Syarpani assured that the entire process followed standard operating procedures, including administration, identity verification, and health checks. The case stemmed from a commotion during a trial at the North Jakarta District Court, where Nasution, as a defendant, approached Hotman Paris, who was a witness. Nasution was accused of defaming Hotman by spreading a narrative that Hotman had harassed his former personal assistant, Putri Iqlima Aprilia, also known as Iqlima Kim.
