Razman Arif Nasution Finally Serves Sentence, Prosecutors Execute Transfer to Cipinang Prison

Convicted in a defamation case against lawyer Hotman Paris Hutapea, Razman Arif Nasution has been officially transferred to the Class I Cipinang Penitentiary in East Jakarta. The execution was carried out by the North Jakarta District Prosecutor’s Office after the court’s decision gained permanent legal force.

Head of Class I Cipinang Prison, Syarpani, confirmed that Razman was received as an inmate on Thursday afternoon, 25 June 2026. “It is true that the admission of one person for execution from the North Jakarta District Prosecutor’s Office, namely Dr. H. Razman Arif Nasution, was carried out,” he stated on Friday, 26 June 2026. Razman reportedly arrived at the prison at around 4:20 p.m. Western Indonesia Time following the execution process by prosecutors.

The final chapter of the legal feud between the two prominent lawyers, Razman Arif Nasution and Hotman Paris Hutapea, reached a surprising verdict in court. Razman Arif Nasution was sentenced to one year and six months in prison after being found guilty of defaming Hotman Paris. The verdict was handed down by a panel of judges at the North Jakarta District Court on Tuesday, 30 September 2025.

In addition to the prison term, Razman Arif Nasution was also sentenced to a fine of Rp 200 million. Should the fine remain unpaid, it will be replaced by an additional four months of imprisonment. This ruling concludes the case that proceeded after being reported by Hotman Paris. In reading the verdict, the panel of judges firmly stated that the defendant was proven to have committed the acts charged by the Public Prosecutor. The judge found Razman legally and convincingly guilty of violating laws concerning electronic information and transactions as well as criminal defamation.
