Razman Arif Executed to Cipinang Prison, to Serve 1.5-Year Sentence
Lawyer Razman Arif Nasution has been executed to Class I Cipinang Prison. Razman will serve a 1.5-year prison sentence in a defamation case against lawyer Hotman Paris Hutapea.
The head of Cipinang Prison, Syarpani, stated that Razman was executed to the prison on Thursday afternoon. The execution was carried out in accordance with the court ruling.
“It is true that based on the Letter from the North Jakarta District Attorney’s Office Number: B-4374/M.1.11/Eku.3/06/2026 dated 25 June 2026, regarding the admission of a convict for the execution of a court decision on behalf of Razman Arif Nasution,” Syarpani said in a written statement on Friday (26/6/2026).
Syarpani said Razman will serve a 1.5-year prison sentence at Cipinang Prison. He said Razman is also burdened with paying a fine.
“With the charge under Article 27 paragraph (3) in conjunction with Article 45 paragraph (3) of Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions, with a prison sentence of 1 year and 6 months and a criminal fine of Rp 200,000,000, subsidiary to 4 months,” he said.
The Supreme Court rejected the cassation appeal filed by Razman Arif Nasution in the defamation case against lawyer Hotman Paris Hutapea. Razman remains sentenced to 1.5 years in prison.
“Reject the cassation of the Public Prosecutor and reject the cassation of the Defendant,” read the cassation ruling number 5227 K/PID.SUS/2026, as seen on the official Supreme Court website on Tuesday (19/5).
The cassation was adjudicated by a panel of judges chaired by Supreme Court Justice Yohanes Priyana, with members Noor Edi Yono and Sutarjo. The cassation decision took 9 days.
The case was initially tried at the North Jakarta District Court. The judge declared Razman legally and convincingly proven guilty of jointly and intentionally transmitting or making accessible electronic information and/or electronic documents containing insults and/or defamation continuously. The judge also declared Razman proven to have jointly committed slander.
The case occurred in 2022. Prosecutors charged Razman with defaming Hotman together with Putri Iqlima Aprilia.
Iqlima was also a defendant in this case. She was sentenced to 6 months in prison and a fine of Rp 100 million.
Meanwhile, Razman was sentenced to 1.5 years in prison and a fine of Rp 200 million. Razman objected and filed an appeal up to cassation. His legal efforts were unsuccessful.
