Raymond and Joaquin Withdraw from Singapore Open 2026 Due to Knee Injury
PT DSI Persero will fully handle export functions from January 2027.
Indonesian men’s doubles pair Raymond Indra/Nikolaus Joaquin have withdrawn from the Singapore Open 2026 after Raymond suffered a left knee injury. Coach Antonius Budi Ariantho decided to pull the young pair to prioritise the player’s condition.
The Indonesian men’s doubles pair Raymond Indra/Nikolaus Joaquin are confirmed not to participate in the Singapore Open 2026, scheduled from May 26-31 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. The decision was made after Raymond’s left knee issues, with coach Antonius Budi Ariantho stating that despite therapy and adjusted training, Raymond still felt discomfort during the final check-up before departure.
“Raymond has been complaining about discomfort in his left posterior knee for the past week. We tried therapy and adjusted his training, but during the last check-up before departure, he still felt uncomfortable,” Anton said on Sunday (24/5).
“Rather than force him to compete, I decided to withdraw Raymond/Joaquin from the Singapore Open 2026. He could still play, but it wouldn’t be at his best due to restricted movement and some hindrance,” he added.
Anton hopes Raymond/Joaquin can return for the BWF tour events in Jakarta next week or at the Polytron Indonesia Open 2026.
“Hopefully with the remaining time, their recovery and preparation will be better for the Indonesia Open,” Anton said.
With Raymond/Joaquin’s withdrawal, the Indonesian men’s doubles sector at the Singapore Open 2026 now relies on pairs Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri and Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani.
Indonesian men’s doubles pair Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin advanced to the quarter-finals of the Thailand Open 2026 after defeating Chinese pair Hu Ke Yuan/Lin Xiang Yi in Bangkok.
“The Babbies” successfully defeated Taiwanese pair Lai Po Yu/Tsai Fu Cheng in two straight games with a dominant 21-9, 21-8 scoreline.
Raymond Indra/Nikolaus Joaquin also delivered a convincing performance in their final match, winning 21-4, 21-7 against Adel Hamek/M Abdelaziz Ouchefoun.
