Rawit Chilli Prices Fall in Sukabumi City, Other Commodities Remain Stable

The prices of essential food commodities in Sukabumi City, West Java, continue to fluctuate. Entering the fourth week of this month, a sufficiently normal supply balanced by demand that has not seen an increase has kept prices relatively stable, with some showing a downward trend.

The Head of the Department of Cooperatives, Micro Enterprises, Industry, and Trade (Diskumindag) of Sukabumi City, Een Rukmini, stated that, in general, the prices of various food commodities are monitored to be quite stable. This condition is caused by the lack of a surge in demand. “Prices have a tendency to decrease. One of them is the bird’s eye chilli commodity,” said Een on Friday (26/6).

Currently, the price of red bird’s eye chilli is around Rp65,000 per kg. The price has dropped by approximately Rp5,000 from its previous range of around Rp70,000 per kg. Een mentioned that a few weeks ago, the price of this commodity tended to surge. However, over time, the price has gradually declined. “For other chilli commodities, prices are quite stable. For example, local large red chilli is now around Rp45,000 per kilogram, while curly green chilli is around Rp25,000 per kilogram,” she added.

Food commodity prices that are monitored to be stable also include broiler chicken meat. Currently, the price is Rp35,000 per kilogram, and broiler chicken eggs are Rp25,000 per kilogram. “Bulk cooking oil is still around Rp21,000 per kg, and MinyaKita is Rp15,700 per kg,” she concluded.
