Rawit Chilli Prices Fall in Sukabumi City, Other Commodities Remain Stable
The price movement of staple commodities in Sukabumi City, West Java, continues to fluctuate. Entering the fourth week of the month, a relatively normal supply coupled with demand that has not increased has kept prices relatively stable, with some even showing a downward trend. Head of the Sukabumi City Cooperative, Micro Enterprise, Industry, and Trade Office (Diskumindag), Een Rukmini, stated that generally, the prices of various food commodities are monitored as quite stable. This condition is due to the absence of a spike in demand. ‘Prices have a tendency to fall. One of them is the rawit chilli commodity,’ said Een on Friday (26/6). Currently, the price of red rawit chilli is around Rp65,000 per kg. The price has fallen by approximately Rp5,000 from the previous Rp70,000 per kg. Een mentioned that a few weeks ago, the price of this commodity tended to soar. However, over time and depending on the moment, the price has gradually decreased. ‘For other chilli commodities, the price is quite stable. For example, local large red chillies are now priced at around Rp45,000 per kilogram. Meanwhile, curly green chillies are around Rp25,000 per kilogram,’ she said. Food commodity prices monitored as stable include broiler chicken meat. Currently, the price is Rp35,000 per kilogram and broiler chicken eggs are Rp25,000 per kilogram. ‘For bulk cooking oil, it is still in the range of Rp21,000 per kg and MinyaKita is Rp15,700 per kg,’ she concluded.
