Rau to visit South Korea
SEOUL: German President Johannes Rau is due in South Korea on
Thursday for summit talks, two days after the countries meet in
the World Cup semifinal in the capital.
Rau is scheduled to watch the third-place playoff, but it was
unclear whether Kim would be at that game in Taegu on Saturday.
South Korea's presidential Blue House said in a statement the
four-day visit was at the invitation of President Kim Dae-jung.
Both countries share similar experiences of being divided
during their history and Germany will follow co-hosts South Korea
and Japan by staging the next World Cup finals in 2006. --
