Rating Justin Hubner After Playing One Half as Fortuna Sittard Loses

KOMPAS.com - Justin Hubner’s Fortuna Sittard failed to end the 2025-2026 Eredivisie season on a high note after losing 0-2 to FC Utrecht in the final match of the season.

Fortuna Sittard vs FC Utrecht was held at Galgenwaard Stadium, Sunday (17/5/2026), on the last week of this season’s Eredivisie.

However, Fortuna failed to end this season with a positive result after losing to Utrecht by two goals without reply.

Utrecht opened the scoring through Dani de Wit in the 39th minute before David Min doubled it in the 65th minute.

Meanwhile, Fortuna Sittard is in 11th place with 39 points.

Playing at home increased Utrecht’s confidence in this match. It was evident that they had their first chance in the fourth minute through Gjivai Zechiel, which went over the bar.

At least, during the first 10 minutes, Utrecht got three chances, but unfortunately none of them hit the target.

The dominance continued to be carried out by Utrecht in this match. It was only in the 40th minute that Dani de Wit managed to break the deadlock.

He released a shot that headed towards the left corner of the goal as a result of a good pass from Gjivai Zechiel.

Fortuna tried to increase their attack in the second half. But, Utrecht’s defense was still too strong to penetrate.

One of Fortuna’s best chances came in the 53rd minute from Kaj Sierhuis. Unfortunately, it went wide on the left side.
