Rasuna Said Project to be Completed Before Jakarta Anniversary as CFD Becomes Regular

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Jakarta Provincial Government aims to complete the Rasuna Said area development in South Jakarta fully before the city’s anniversary on 22 June 2026. Special Staff for Public Communication to the Governor and Deputy Governor of Jakarta, Chico Hakim, said infrastructure improvements in the area are ongoing but already being utilised by residents for daily activities. “Infrastructure improvements in the Rasuna Said area are targeted to be completed before Jakarta’s anniversary,” Chico said when contacted in Jakarta on Friday (29 May 2026), according to Antara. The Jakarta Provincial Government has also begun holding regular CFDs in the Rasuna Said area since early June 2026, following an evaluation of the initial trial. Chico explained that the evaluation was conducted by the Transportation Department alongside relevant Regional Apparatus Agencies (SKPD), covering various on-ground implementation aspects. “Evaluations of impacts on mobility and resident comfort, crowd management, and cleanliness have also been conducted,” he said. The evaluation also covered traffic management, access in and out of the area, and supporting facilities such as pavements, activity zones, and security. The Jakarta Provincial Government is optimistic that CFD operations in the area will improve further and provide a comfortable open space for the public. “We are confident that operations from June will run better and provide a comfortable open space for Jakarta residents,” Chico said. Previously, DKI Jakarta’s Public Works Department noted that progress on the eastern side of HR Rasuna Said Road in South Jakarta had exceeded 50 per cent. “Currently, progress on the eastern side of HR Rasuna Said Road has reached over 60 per cent,” said Siti Dinar Wenny, Head of Data and Information Centre (Kapusdatin) at DKI Jakarta’s Public Works Department, according to Antara on Monday (18 May 2026). Siti stated that DKI Jakarta’s Public Works Department is confident the eastern side of HR Rasuna Said Road will be completed before Jakarta’s 499th anniversary on 22 June 2026. During the Rasuna Said CFD trial, residents were invited to view the area’s development progress firsthand. “We are very pleased that the public has welcomed the new look of the eastern side of HR Rasuna Said Road, which is planned as a gift for Jakarta’s 499th anniversary,” Siti said.
